If you ask Mick, he can't put his finger on when exactly things started to change between them. It was a slow and gradual thing. Lenny started coming over less. Started needing him less. Maybe it's because Lewis was stepping up his game, dragging him out on more jobs and threatening Lisa.
Not that Mick would know because Lenny didn't *talk* to him anymore. Not unless it was a job.
It hurt. It hurt to think about. So one night Mick sets fire to his couch because that's where he and Lenny used to sit, used to make out after school and before Lisa was ready to be picked up.
He just.. couldn't stand looking at it anymore.
Mick quits his job. If Lenny doesn't need his place, doesn't need that stability, why keep killing himself for it?
But he still comes when he calls. Because even if Lenny doesn't need Mick - Mick will always need him.
