The smirk only broadens at the laugh that his comment earns him. This may be the one thing about this place he'll miss; he doesn't really get to be himself at home. But it's kind of nice to know his actual personality is accepted-- even if it is by someone who everyone around here views as a literal psychopath. Leonard just doesn't see it.
But that comment has him curious and he can't stop his mouth from working before he has time to process that maybe it isn't the kind of thing he should ask. "You end up in there a lot or something?"
