"I don't want to deal with Mardon, I--" He cuts off in a growl because that was almost a little too much leaning toward the truth of the matter. "When did you become the one that gets to say what I do and don't need?" The words rip out of him before he can think to stop them and for that they're more honest than anything else might have been in their place.
