Daisy's stomach does a flip when he makes eye contact with her. Like she's suddenly realizing all over again that he's actually alive, and she wants so badly to reach over and kiss him. She's missed him so much, but that would do nothing but scare him.
"I'd like to think it is, but they're not exactly making it easy for us. Eventually we'll become normal, just like the rest of the population."
"Well, they say anything worth having is worth fighting for, right?" He cants his head in her direction, the slightest of smiles playing on his lips. "We'll get there. Eventually."
Whether that would happen in their lifetimes was another story. But eventually. Maybe in another generation or five.
It's been enough months that it's a breath of fresh air to actually feel positive about something. To have someone that actually cares enough about what's going on in this world.
