What do you mean? [He asks cautiously, head tilted and squinting in his direction. before he focuses his attention on Hartley. He can't stop the twitch of a smile at those words, shaking his head.] I wont, I promise. I'll be fine... okay?
[Of course Hartley had all the reason in the world to caution him. Cisco was impulsive and that could easily be turned recklessly dangerous. And that paired with the loyalty to the people he cared about could turn even worse, quicky.]
Fear makes a lot of sense, the way powers work. Extreme emotions tend to trigger powers, it makes a lot of sense. A lot of what I've gathered from the research I've seen, they could be linked to the adrenal glands. To change the trigger is ... complicated. We'll see how it goes. [He's making no promises to Cisco or Hartley, he had no idea if he could even keep himself in check temper wise yet.] It'll either work out or I'll just have to create a consistent hostile environment for you. In theory, it could work.
[At the question Hartley asked, Paco just sort of stared for a moment. What? Since when did Hart fight? Did this one? Actually, that made a lot of sense. That explained why he called himself Piper. God, he was going to regret asking this.] No... are you a meta-human?
Yes, I am. [Which already answers the question then. Apparently his doppelgänger didn't have his powers, so there went any hope of using that to his advantage and work on his own control. Whatever, Cisco was the focus here, if only so he could keep Paco from scaring him.]
If you can only vibe when you're almost scared out of your mind, how would you ever be able to control your power properly?
[He highly doubts that would work, as he's discussed with Cisco before.]
[There's a stretch of silence as he just stares at Paco after that. He is quickly becoming the opposite of a fan of this plan of training with his counterpart.] A consistent hostile environment? [He glances at Hartley. They've been over this before.] Isn't that almost counter productive? Also, being in a constant fight or flight state sounds fucking exhausting. And there's desensitization to consider, after a point, wouldn't it just become expected, and less effective?
It was a joke. Relax, I wouldn't do it. I could but I won't. [No one ever gets his sense of humour but then, he said it in a dead serious tone like he was legitimately considering it. Well, not much. It would be funny to scare the ever loving hell out of his nicer half. Perhaps he could consider that if the training became a headache.] I don't think scaring you at first is a terrible idea, I can see how much power you have and just what you can do as compared to me but I think long term, it'd just break you.
[Looking over at Hartley, he slowly raised his eyebrow before making a vaguely amused noise.] Hartley as a metahuman. The surprises never end.
You know what would help you with people knowing when you're joking? Being funny. [So Reverb might be really dangerous, but Hartley wouldn't can the sarcasm even if he didn't look like Reverb's dead husband. He frowns, wishing he could discuss some of this with Cisco without any witness, but the usual method of using Spanish obviously wouldn't work.] Cisco told me that you had no problems dealing with the Flash. Why is Zoom that much harder for someone of your power level to take down?
[Because it should work much the same, shouldn't it? He looks at Cisco, frowning.] Don't do anything you don't want to. But understanding powers is important. Even if you don't want to use them, we already know that they will creep up on you.
We gotta work on your jokes. [He shakes his head. How can any version of him be this bad at humor? It's embarrassing.
He nods a bit at Hartley.] I know, I won't. It might help, too, understanding more about how it works might take some of the edge off . [And if he keeps telling himself that, maybe it'll eventually become true.]
Neither of you think I'm funny? [There's a pause.] Woah, that actually hurts. [A beat] Not.
[Hey, that's comedy gold on Earth two! Paco rolled his eyes and looked away, shrugging his shoulders. Why was Zoom so much harder to take down? Was he seriously asking that? There were so many reasons and not of them really factored in his skill ability.] Zoom isn't hard to kill but -- well, emotions are a complicated thing. Approach the man who took everything from you and tell me you wouldn't be compromised. For a long time he had leverage and then he took my motivation. It's not that I can't, I just stopped caring. [Alone, Zoom knew how to hurt him and in many ways, he lost his drive to fight. He was kind of hoping someone like Cisco would inspire him.] Perhaps if we train together, you'll keep be stable and focused, Vibe.
