Caitlin's grown used to certain things around STAR Labs. Hartley is going to make some snide, snotty comment in her general vicinity at least once a day. Lately, as things have been ramping up, it's more than once. And when the remarks are particularly cutting, she knows she can count on Ronnie or Cisco to help her laugh it off.
Today is one of those days and, unfortunately, Ronnie is home sick. Which is just more fodder for Hartley, adding to the lingering guilt she feels for leaving her fiance home alone. (It's only a cold, and the only reason he didn't come in is because Dr. Wells insists on people not being at the lab when sick.)
It hasn't escaped her notice that something seems off with Cisco, either. She's happy to be Hartley's target if it means he leaves her new friend alone. When she notices him leaving early, she sees a chance to try and improve both their moods. Caitlin leans into Cisco's office space. "Pssssst," she says, her voice an exaggerated stage whisper. "Hartley left. Want to see what we can boobytrap his desk with?"
Cisco was so lost in whatever he was doing, he didn't even notice the brat--sorry, Hartley--had left early until Caitlin speaks up. "Huh?" he glances up, but as her words catch up in his brain, he can't help the smirk that settles over his lips.
"So devious, Ms. Snow," he teases lightly, his smirk settling into a more proper grin. "What are you thinking?" he spins in his chair toward her, his notes on a project shoved aside for the time being because this was far more interesting.
