[ well, fiona's still got a handful of other siblings to worry about, so it's not like mickey's coming for her job. he's really only concerned about one sibling in particular - a sibling that's probably going to give him a lot of shit if they have to go looking for him and everything turns out to be okay, but he'll handle it later if it actually comes down to that. ]
make it 8. actually, you think you can do me a solid and just check ian's bedstand, see if his pills are still sitting there?
[ alright. so it wouldn't be fair to send out a search party before nine, because it's very possible ian could make it home in time to take his meds, and if he's a little bit late, then he's a little bit late, but that doesn't mean mickey's still not slightly concerned now. ]
give them til 9:30. he'll be fine if he's a little late.
[ his initial response is something like fuck you, i am breathing, because he's definitely not concerned or nervous or working himself into unnecessary stress or anything like that and fuck anyone for thinking he gives a damn - but there's not point in getting douchey with fiona right now, so he goes with something a little less aggressive like: ]
yeah, whatever.
[ and then, because mickey is sometimes surprising when he doesn't mean to be: ]
[Standard Mickey response, really, let's be real here. She's genuinely surprised at the lack of aggression, but she thinks he's getting a little better about not going with his first gut instinct occasionally. Her lil Milkovich is growin' up, awww.
She figures he'll be here soon enough and is about to pocket her phone with the second one comes in a moment later. She smirks a little. So considerate, Mick. but she doesn't say as much.]
Nah, we're good. Less you wanna bring some beer. [Because let's face it, facing potential Gallagher style crises sober rarely worked out well.]
[ mickey doesn't bother with another response, shrugging on a hoodie and double-checking his pockets for his wallet, keys and his phone before he heads out.
he could probably get to the gallagher house faster if he took the L, but public transportation has never really been his thing. instead, he walks, stopping by the kash and grab to pick up a six-pack of shitty beer and spending way too much time mulling over candy (skittles? kids like skittles, right? nah, he could choke on 'em. starburst? pop rocks, definitely pop rocks). for a good thirty seconds, he considers just walking out of the store, but he finds himself at the counter and he pays without making too much eye contact before he's out the door.
when mickey reaches the house, he lets himself in the front door (because if everyone else can just waltz in like they pay the bills, then he can too, he figures) and nudges it closed behind him with a light kick of his foot. ]
[While she waits for Mickey to show up, Fi makes a vague attempt at clearing at least some of the clutter around the living room-which basically means tossing out empty pizza boxes, half-wasted beer bottles, and making a pile of random crap in a corner somewhere to be properly dealt with later. He knows what to expect, they ain't a hotel, it's never spotless around here, but she needed something to do in the meantime.
Fiona is neither surprised nor bothered by the sudden intrusion without warning.]
That you, Mickey? [She calls out from the kitchen, wiping her hands on her jeans as she makes her way back to the living room.]
[ as if mickey gives a shit about old pizza boxes and half-finished, days old beers. his own house is just shy of being a disaster, cluttered with the same shit if not more. in comparison, the gallaghers' house is a half-step up from where he lives, and it's certainly less... suffocating, in more ways than he cares to really think about.
mickey makes half an effort to stomp his boots a little by the door so he doesn't track anything in, glancing up a little at the sound of fiona's voice calling from the kitchen. he steps out of the entryway and into the living room just as fiona steps out of the kitchen. ]
Frank's passed out in the grass like three houses up the street. [ he responds instead of acknowledging the now-obvious answer to her question, not a lick of urgency or concern in his tone. it's as if he just told her the sky is blue, or that lip is an asshole - that is to say, it's not surprising.
mickey's brows lift a little as he moves through the living room, heading past fiona towards the kitchen, beer hanging from his fingers by the plastic rings around the tops of the cans. he glances back toward her over his shoulder. ] You hear from Carl yet?
And no one was surprised at all. [She shakes her head at the report about Frank. That asshole was always laying around passed out somewhere. She’ll deal with that later.
She shakes her head and drops easily onto the couch.] Not yet.
[She’s getting ready to call off the waiting game and just go look for them now, but…she’s trying to give ‘em the benefit of the doubt, here. Kinda. MamaBear instincts might just take over anyway though.]
[ mickey tugs two cans free of the plastic rings and sets them aside for a second, turning and sticking the remaining four cans in the fridge. he leaves the pop rocks he bought for liam in the plastic bag on the counter and then grabs the two beers from the counter before heading out of the kitchen and back out into the living room. ]
They still got time.
[ he doesn't sound too convinced that everything's cool, though. mickey offers fiona one of the cans, bending a little to reach across the coffee table as he holds it out to her. for now, he's a little to anxious to sit. ]
Ian's pills - you, uh. You said they're by his bed, right?
[She takes the offered beer from him and pops it open to take a sip from it. Maybe that'll help with her nerves. Hah. Yeah, right.
She nods a bit at the question.] Yup.
[Which, in Fiona's mind can mean one of two things: He plans on coming back, or he's intent on ditching Carl the first opportunity he can and running into the damn wind. Fuck.]
[ooc; p.s. do you have plans for where this might go? know an ian to drag into shenanigans? XD]
