The whole long-distance thing? It's not Scott's favorite part. Even if he understands why Kira insisted the way she did. She had to go back to her ancestors roots, she needed to control the fox instead of letting it control her. But.... it's still hard. And he isn't even sure where she finds the time or cell signal to talk to him at all, but somehow she manages.
"Hey, everything okay?" She'd called a few times, back to back, so it had him worried.
The last thing she wanted to do was worry Scott. That hadn't been her
intention. Then again, she hadn't realized just how many times she'd
called. A part of her more worried about him than about herself. So when
she finally she gets through she can't stop the sigh of relief.
"Everything's fine now," She tells him with a small smile. He wasn't there
to figure out what chemosignals were coming off of her and what ones
weren't. "I just..."
"I miss you."
The tone alone probably says that she's worried too.
